Learn the basics of hand applique with Mimi's favorite freezer-paper techniques! Stitch a curved stem, leaves, heart, and circle using the traditional applique stitch. Learn successful methods and tricks for creating straight edges, curves, points, and circles. This is a great class for beginners as well as experienced quilters who want to brush up on applique techniques. Students will finish most of the applique in class!

During this all-day workshop we will stitch one of the designs, using techniques that can be applied to the other three blocks. We will use the open wreath pattern in class, stitching thin stems, leaves, folded buds, flowers, circles, and the heart in the center. This is a class for all skill levels.

Gather your favorite fabrics together and make this scrappy little quilt based on the cover quilt from Mimi's book Bed and Breakfast QuiltsBed and Breakfast Quilts. In the first half of the class, we will machine piece blocks for the center of the quilt using a fast technique called "Mary Triangles". In the second half of the class, we will learn to applique the vine, leaves, and hearts around the border. The quilt is made with Thimbleberries fabrics, but it looks great with any collection of fabrics. This is a fun class for all skill levels.
